The ease of international travel and spread of various kinds of mass media all over the world have

made it more possible than ever for people to know how other people live in other countries. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? Answer. It is undoubtedly the case that the world today has become a global village. One of the effects of this is that people easily travel around and the development of many kind of mass communications where people are exposed to similar living habits and lifestyles. My view is that this is largely a beneficial process and in this essay I will explain why. The first point to make is that there are some obstacles of cultural globalization, although these are relatively minor. The most significant of these disadvantages is that it can weaken national culture and traditions. For example, if young people watch films and televisions programmes produced in Korea, they usually adopt aspects of the lifestyle of the Korean characters they see on television like long hair of young people nowadays or people usually change their lifestyle and habits when they have a chance to travel to another country like the United States. Typically, however, this only affects minor details such as clothing and does not seriously threaten national identity. When we turn to the other side of the argument, there are two points to make in favour of this process. The first of these is that the more we travel, the better we are aware of each other and this reduces prejudice against other nations. The other point relates to modernity. It is a sign of progress in society that people no longer are restricted to culture and lifestyle from their own society but are able to access more international culture and lifestyle. If, for instance, there were unable to comprehend Halloween festival in European countries then that would mean their societies were not part of the international community. In conclusion, I understand the point of view of people who worry about cultural globalization because it is a threat to national traditions. However, this is outweighed by its positive impact on international understanding and the fact that it represents progress within a society.

In the past, sporting champions used to be motivated primarily by the desire to win a match or to break world records. These days, they are more likely to be motivated by prize money and the opportunity to be famous. What message does this send to young people and how does this attitude to sport affect the sports themselves? Give reasons for your answers. In todays material world, it is undoubtedly the case that nowadays sporting champions are frequently attracted by prize money and famousness rather than ambitions to overcome a match or world records that many past champions used to achieve for simple reason that they desired victories. In my views, this message is warning young people about their attitudes when they play sports and it will also directly impact in the image of sport in general. On the one hand, the principal meaning of this warning is that it reminds young people should concentrate in their careers instead of thinking about money and famousness a lot. The reason of this message is that young people today consider sports like a tool that they exploit to earn money and fame and therefore, they do not hesitate to use tricks to achieve their purposes and it clearly differs from the aim of sport that it orients. So that they easily throw away their careers. There are, for example, nowadays so many shock events that sportsmen utilize doping to win their rival and then they have to pay for their careers by leaving sporting arenas forever. On the other hand, it is undoubtedly that this attitude to sport has impacted on the sports themselves in many ways. It has enforced upon authorities and organize department having right behaviors about each competition as well as they legislate more accurately and strictly to protect the image of sports. More than that it also influence manner of athletes and make them think about their posture in training and sporting event. If, for example, a foot team becomes a championship but this team competes just because of prize, they will be immediately criticized and they cannot escape from public opinions. The conclusion and my view is that young athletes should believe that a stable career begins by a desire. If not, they may lose their ways.

Many countries have compulsory military service for men after they leave school. It would be a good idea for all countries to adopt this system for men and possibly women. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Answer. Many people would agree that compulsory military service is great important for men and may be women after they graduate from high school. However, there are some people who argue that should not all countries apply this system for men and women. This is a complex issue and my belief is that no one military system that applies to all countries. On the one hand, it is fairly to understand that obligatory armed forces do bring significant benefits. First among these is it makes sure that army is always ready to highly perform their missions. More than that When we turn to the other side of the argument, there are two major points to make in favour of this system. The first of these is that it is very hard to expand the power of army and in many cases soldiers do not want to devote for their army. A good example here is in Vietnam people who are over 18 years old have to be conscripted in 18 months, however they usually want to leave army as soon as possible. In addition to this is that this system spends a lot of money more than other system such as voluntary service to maintain. In conclusion, I understand the point of view of people who want to retain a powerful army because it can be threat to national security. However, each country has own conditions therefore it should have a strategy to ensure recruitment that is the most suitable for them.
