Translation (Slide)
A translation moves a figure along a straight line.
• The figure and its image are congruent (same shape, same size).
• The image has a different position, but the same size, shape, and orientation.
Example:

Show a translation of 2 squares/units right, 3 squares/ units up.

Reflection (Flip)
A reflection is a flip.
• The figure and its image face opposite ways.
• The figure and its image are the same distance from the mirror line.
• The image has a different position and orientation, but the same size and shape.

Rotation (Turn)
A rotation is a turn.
• A figure and its image may face different ways.
• The resulting image has a different position and orientation but the same size
and shape.
