(b) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are true but Reason(R) is not the correct explanation of assertion (A).
(c) Assertion (A) is true but reason (R) is false.
(d) Assertion (A) is false but reason (R) is true.

14. Case-Study :- Mr. Kumar is a Maths teacher. One day he taught students that the Integral 𝐼 = ∫ 𝑓(𝑥)𝑑𝑥 can be
transformed into another form by changing the independent variable x to t by substituting

Consider 𝐼 = ∫ 𝑓(𝑥)𝑑𝑥
Put 𝑥 = 𝑔(𝑡) so that = 𝑔 (𝑡) then we write 𝑑𝑥 = 𝑔 (𝑡)𝑑𝑡
Thus, 𝐼 = ∫ 𝑓(𝑥)𝑑𝑥 = ∫ 𝑓(𝑔(𝑡))𝑔 (𝑡)𝑑𝑡
This change of variable formula is one of the important tools
available to us in the name of integration by substitution.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions:

(i) Evaluate: ∫ 𝑑𝑥
(ii) Evaluate: ∫ ( )
𝑑𝑥
