, South Sudan has since opened its Game Parks for tour ism. Victoria Safaris has since started a 6 and 12 Days Flying Safari into Boma National park from Juba International Airport, flying a Cessna Caravan with 10 P articipants. See below, itineraries which are on schedule; 6 & 7 DAYS - SOUTHERN SUDAN BOMA NATIONAL PARK & CULTURAL FLYING AND ROAD SAFARI

Highlights: As water sources dry up after the seasonal rains, and then again when the season al rains return, enormous herds of animals migrate in Boma National Park, Southe rn Sudan. It is estimated that the migration is far greater than the famous migr ation of the Serengeti, where nearly 2,000,000 animals search for grazing. Aircraft: 10 passengers (+ 2 pilots) seat prop-jet Cessna Caravan used during the Safari Tribal People: The tribal people in the area are the Murle, Anyuah and Toposa. There will be ma ny opportunities to visit them and view how they have retained their traditional dress, housing, adornment, tools, and religious beliefs. Toposa Village in South Sudan Major Species of Wildlife in Boma National Park In 22,800 square kilometre (2,280,000 Hectares or 5,631,600 acres) Boma Nationa l Park the major species are: Elephant, Rothschilds Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Nile C rocodile, White-eared Kob, Tiang, Mongalla Gazelle, Lion, Leopard, Caracal, Serv al, Jackal, Hyaena, Nile Buffalo, Zebra, Topi, Ostrich, Grant s Gazelle, Roan, L esser Kudu, Lelwel Hartebeest, Beisa Oryx, Derby s Eland, Bohor Reedbuck, Wartho g, Olive Baboon, Vervet Monkey. Hippos exist not only in the Nile River, but in the many small rivers and swamps throughout Southern Sudan. Elephants in Boma National Park Area: Boma National Park is 2,280,000 hectares (5,631,600 acres) in size. This vast pa rk has virtually no roads or park ranger outposts. Mostly flat it is crossed by many small streams and swamps. Animal Migration in Boma National Park Take our safari to see the Migration. However every year the movement takes plac e at different times depending on the rains. Migration in Boma National park In Southern Sudan, as in the Serengeti, the migration takes place all year, it i s a slow movement dependant on the grass and the rains. In March/April/May/June the animals are moving from North to South, from the Sudd flood plains back into Boma National Park, because the rains will have started. In November/December/J anuary the animals are moving from South to North as the dry season is well unde r way and the animals are searching for grass. In November/December/January the white-eared kob will be calving as they migrate north into the Sudd flood plain. The major migrating species involved are: white-eared Kob antelope, Tiang Antel

ope, and Mongalla Gazelle. A 2008 survey estimated that there were 6,850 elephan ts in the park and surrounding area adjacent to the park. The elephants also mig rate with the water and grass. Detailed Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival Juba City Arrive Juba International Airport on Kenya Airlines flight from Nairobi at 920am or on Air Uganda flight from Entebbe at 915am, gather your luggage and pass thr ough customs and immigration. We will be waiting outside with a sign that says " Bahr El Jebel Safaris". With some help with porters we will then walk you down t he airport tarmac to a Cessna Caravan for your 1.6 hour flight to Nyat within Bo ma National Park. You will fly across Boma National Park en route to Nyat where our tented safari camp is located. You arrive in time for lunch. A group finishi ng their safaris then boards the aircraft for the flight back to Juba. You need not use the above flights with Kenya Airlines and can arrive a day before or dep art a day later if desired. See below hotel packages for one night in Juba. Days 2, 3, 4, and 5 (with the 7 day safari there is a day 6 in the park) - Boma National Park On these days, you will be on safari in Boma National Park searching for wildlif e by 4x4 vehicle and on foot. Some animals have been radio-collared and we will use these to find certain herds. There are traditional villages south of Nyat th at will be visited on some days. All nights in our tented safari camp, with cot beds, full field kitchen with our chef who is famous for his fresh breads, ice m akers, bottled water, dining areas, tables, chairs, latrines, laundry, daily mai d service, battery chargers for your cameras, SAT phone, lanterns and enclosed s afari showers. Supplies are trucked into the camp from Juba monthly. Day 6 or 7: Boma National park Juba City The Cessna Caravan aircraft will depart the Nyat airstrip about noon for a 1.6 h our flight back to Juba for your flight departure at 3:15 pm on Kenya Airways A irlines back to Nairobi or at 6:00 pm on Air Uganda back to Entebbe.
