Due to the epidemic of Covid-19, we had to stay home all year and could not go to school. In
order to keep the atmosphere and experience for my students, my class organized a field trip at
the cultural temple - Quoc Tu Giam - also very complicated. The most diverse and rich
monument complex of Hanoi city. When all members of the class gathered, my adviser and
instructions began to introduce and lead us on the tour. Van Hoc temple is one of the most
important historical sites in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO. The full name of this complex is
Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam. Van Hoc temple is the temple of literature, Quoc Tu Giam is the
Royal Academy.

The literary temple was built (1070), the second year of the reign of King Ly Thang Tong. The
literary temple was built not only with the function of worshiping the gods and goddesses of
Confucianism, but also a royal school. The first student was Prince Ly Can Duc, the son of King
Ly Thanh Tong and Nguyen Phi Phi Lan was only 5 years old, and in 1072, he was crowned King
Ly Nhan Tong. In 1976, the first Vietnamese University - Quoc Tu was established. Initially, the
school was only for the children of the kings and children of the great nobles, but then
expanded to include children of ordinary citizens with excellent learning records. The school
has trained thousands of talents for the country for more than 700 years. . Van Hoc Temple -
Quoc Tu Giam is surrounded by brick walls, inside is divided into 5 layers of space with different
architectures. Each space layer is limited by a brick wall with 3 connected doors (including
middle and two auxiliary doors). From the outside, there is gate: Van Hoc temple gate, Dai
Trung, Khue Van Ca, Dai Thanh, Thai Hoc.

In the first layer of space, there are three paths leading to the Middle Gate of the
Grate with two side portals being the Virtue Gate and the Acquired Talent Gate. The second
courtyard runs from the great middle gate to the Khue Van pavilion. The three paths continue
leading to the next two side gates which are the Magnificence of Letters Gate and the
Crystallization of Letters Gate. The names of these gates praise the beauty of literature in both
its content and its form. The second courtyard contains the Khue Van pavilion that is a unique
architectural work built in 1805 and it is a symbol of Hanoi. In the third courtyard, there is the
Well of Heavenly Clarity. On the sides of the well are doctors’ stelae. The doctors’ stelae are a
valuable historical resource for the study of culture, education and sculpture in Vietnam. 82
stelae now remain. They depict the names and birth places of 1307 graduates of 82 royal
exams. Passing through the glorious success gate we enter the fourth courtyard. In the center
of the fourth courtyard is the House of Ceremonies. The next building is where Confucius and
his four excellent disciples are worshipped. There are two pairs of cranes on the backs of
turtles. According to an old tale, turtles and cranes are very close friends. When floors happen,
the turtle can help the crane to get to a dry place. Conversely, when droughts occur. The crane
can bring the turtle to a wet area. This story shows mutual assistance among good friends and
the harmony between the Heaven and the Earth. In 1076, Emperor Ly Nhan Tong ordered the
construction of an imperial academy as a fifth courtyard. In 1946, the courtyard was destroyed
by the French. In the year 2000, the fifth courtyard was reconstructed. On the ground of the
original Imperial Academy. Several buildings were constructed including the front building. The

rear building, the left and right buildings, the bell house and the drum house. Many scientific
activities and cultural events are organized in the front building. The rear building has two
stores. The ground floor has a statue of Chu Van An who was the first headmaster of the
imperial academy. The upper floor is dedicated to the three monarchs.

who contributed the most to the foundation of the temple and the academy. King Ly
Thanh Tong (1023-1072), who founded the temple in 1070. King Ly Nhan Tong (1066-1127),
who founded the Royal Academy, and King Le Thanh Tong (1442-1497), who ordered the
erection of the Doctors' Steale in 1484. The Academy was headed by a Rector and a Vice-
Chancellor. Many students have lived and studied here. Most of the students passed the
regional exam before they applied for the academy. Gifted students from all over the country
head to the capital to study the principles of Confucianism, Literature and Poetry on a course at
the Royal Academy. Besides seeing the beauty of the temple of literature, we witnessed the
work of the tour guide. After he introduced us all to the Temple of Literature, he and our
academic advisor held a question-and-answer game, where whoever answered correctly got a
prize. This makes us very happy and excited. In addition to being entertained, we also learned
more about the place we just visited. The game will end when the gifts run out. Class members
eagerly participated in the right to answer the questions. Although some of you weren't lucky
enough to answer correctly, this will also help you make a deeper impression. Moreover, the
Temple of Literature is a tourist attraction especially for foreigners. My class had the
opportunity to socialize and take a lot of beautiful photos with the place and with the tourists.
The job of a tour guide is very interesting, this is also a job that my major is aiming for. First,
let's talk about the advantages. For those who love to travel, travel tourism is an ideal job. As a
result of these trips, you can learn about different destinations. You can move on to single-day
or multi-day trips where you'll learn about additional destinations, and eventually, you can
graduate from the international circuit to learn about other countries, all makes you a more
comprehensive and individual, individual, individual tour guide. Since you are meeting many
different people, you choose different bits and languages. Some companies will pay you to
learn other languages because it's a valuable skill that goes into the customer service you
provide. Other companies may not get the bill, but there are plenty of free online learning apps
and opportunities that can help you improve your tour guide service. As a tour guide, you can
really work on your soft skills through various interactions with tourists, other guides, and staff
at different attractions. While your daily routes encounter countless individuals, some pleasant,
some quiet, some difficult, some noisy, and you learn to deal with different types of people. An
indispensable thing is a high salary. So there are many goals to do this profession. Limitations of
a tour guide. In many cases, being a tour guide is spontaneous, meaning there is no notice of
schedule changes. This is because customer schedules change, there are cancellations, and
there are often no shows. Whether you're a tour guide in your local city or a tour guide, you'll
have to deal with different people with unique needs and personalities every day you work.
Sometimes there are problematic and difficult individuals who don't behave well, complain
about everything, or are generally miserable and want everyone to know. To deal with this type
of individual, you must be patient, professional, and excellent customer service.

To be able to do this job for a long time, you must always be equipped with
knowledge in many fields and learn more languages. Anyway, the tour guide profession is still a
promising industry as the country is developing more and more aspects. For a language learner
like me, this is also an opportunity for me to learn and choose the right guide for my future
development.
