Sub: Withdrawal of CIC and launching of CIT w.e.f. July 2009 cycle reg.. Ref: Resolution of the Academic Councils Standing Committee at its 28th Meeting held on 04.11.08 (ACSC 28.5.2 & 28.6.3)
Dear Sir/Madam,

As you are aware, CIC programme has been withdrawn and a new Programme, Certificate in Information Technology (CIT) has been launched w.e.f. July 2009 cycle of admission. Accordingly, CIC has been removed and CIT Programme incorporated in the Common Prospectus of July 2009/January 2010, the CRC of which is being finalized by SRD, as of now. 2.1. However, subsequent to implementation of Walk-in Admission, the sale of Prospectus has become a continuous process. Hence, the Prospectus printed for January 2009 cycle was sold for July cycle as well. For that matter the same Prospectus is still being sold for July 2009 cycle, which carries the details of CIC programme. 2.2. Inspite of a caution note on page No.52 at Point No.5.10 of the Common Prospepctus of Jan.2009, that CIC will not be on offer from July 2009 session onwards, many candidates probably might have applied without knowing its withdrawal from July 2009. 2.3. In view of the above, it has been decided to consider all such applications for CIT (stand alone programme)-July 2009 session after obtaining consent from the prospective students. p/2 : 2 : 2.4. However, CIT will not be applicable to those students who might have applied for concurrently pursuing CIC with BCA and/or MCA in view of the revised eligibility criteria. 3. Similarly, no Computing course(s) will be on offer for B.Com 1st yr. studentsJuly 2009 in place of CIC-02 & CIC-05. Those who have erroneously opted for CIC-02 & CIC-05 will have to change their option and go for an 8 credit course either from Gr.1 or Gr.2 of BDP. Accordingly, an opportunity be given to all such candidates and the excess fee of Rs.1600/- paid by them for CIC-02 & CIC-05 be refunded. 4. This may be brought to the notice of all concerned for information, necessary action and compliance.
