1.1 About Sylhet Sylhet is rich in cultural and historical aspects. Situated in North Eastern side of Bangladesh. One of the few major cities in the country. A place for both businessmen and travelers. Awesome natural beauty all around the city. You get to see a lot of tea gardens which doesn't only produce the largest number of tea leafs but also has awesome natural view. Dargah-e-hazrat Shahjalal(R) is situated in the heart of Sylhet. Some of the places around Sylhet are: Madhabkunda, Jaflong, Jaintya, Sripur, Parjatan sight, Bhulaganj, Adventure world, Dreamland Park etc. 1.2 History Rose View Hotel welcomes the guests to enjoy comfort and luxury, a place where anyone will find exceptional five star facilities from pleasant surroundings and world class hospitality. The hotel features 140 cozy deluxe and suite rooms, an extensive array of restaurant outlets, fully equipped fitness centre, swimming pool and other entertainment facilities. The location is superb, very close to all the shopping malls and with good links to other parts of the city and other parts of the country. The rooms, are of a very high standard and have all the luxuries provided by a 3 * Hotel. The rooms are clean and serviced regularly. There is a roof top pool with excellent views of the city, and a fabulous area to chill and get away from the heat!! The hotels offers three different restaurants but were also willing to provide with something that wasnt on their menu! The staffs are always on hand, ready on a look out to meet the needs. The Chairman/Owner of the hotel is Mr. Ahad Uddin. The word gentleman does not do justice to this man. He is very welcoming and a happy chap, who always maintained a presence to make sure that the staffs are looking after the guests but also to meet and greet the guests, which is not the case for many Hotels. 1.3 Location: The location of Rose View Hotel is at a very prominent place in Sylhet, Just crossing the Shahjalal Bridge; its just on the point of Uposhahar area. Rose View Hotel is situated at the point of Uposhahar & Mendibag. On the ground floor, a shopping complex is situated, at 1st floor; there is a private commercial Bank, Named UCB. The Main hotel is 6 storied. On the top of it, there is a swimming pool. On the next page of our assignment, we have shown a map of Rose View Hotel.

Category of Rose View according to International Star Rating World Hotel Rating There is so far no international classification which has been adopted. There have been attempts at unifying the classification system so that it becomes an internationally recognized and reliable standard, but they have all failed. It has been considered that, as it has been the case in other areas (e.g. international accounting standards), hotel classification standards should result from a private and independent initiative. This may be the case of the World Hotel Rating (WHR) project, which notably aims to set international classification standards and rating criteria along the lines of a world star-rating system. It will also establish an information platform on the hotel industry which will be multilingual and multicultural. WHR intends to play a key role in the development of quality hotel services, as well as equitable and sustainable tourism, and the protection of the world's cultural and natural heritage. In addition, WHR will develop labels to promote hotels distinguished by specific features, such as a family and child-friendly disposition. A test period was scheduled for 2010. Superior Tourist The Superior flag is provided when the additional service and accommodation provisions are not sufficient for the next Hotel star. The bathroom facilities are usually at the same level as for two stars hotels but built from cheaper materials. The cost for regular inspection by independent associations is waived as well.

After analyzing the above shown Star rating criteria only 1 hotel in Bangladesh is maintaining 5 Star Category which is The Westin none other Hotel & Resort in Bangladesh is Categorically 5 Star. In Nazimgar Resort is 4 star for their Bar facilities. But as Rose View Hotel not yet get the permission to launch the BAR facilities in a separate place also there is no Disco place in the Hotel Premises. They dont have any Helipad or even a Spa, so according to international standard its rating is 3 Star. Recently at Coxsbazar in Bangladesh, a Resort has opened named Sea Pearl, that is the 2nd 5 star category Hotel & Resort in Bangladesh, another is going to be opened at Srimongol named Grand Sultan resort which is also a star resort. There will be Casino, Disco, BAR, Even Helipad.

Chapter 6 Recommendation
1. Rose View Hotel Marketing Team should emphasize about the tour package to the inner and also the foreign clients.

2. As they have claim it as a five star hotel, they should have minimum follow the 5* criteria of international Hotel Standards. To maintain this, they should have launched a well equipped BAR facilities.

3. Rose View Hotel should start a SPA to grab the corporate clients.

4. Rose View Hotel Should open a Separate Disco Floor to attract the corporate and also the foreign clients.

5. Employee retention is a big problem for Rose View Hotel, they have to decrease the retention the employee by increasing the salary and other benefit.

Conclusion
Rose View Hotel is the proud of Sylhet. Their hospitality and tendency to care about the guests is really praiseworthy. Their quality of food and the type of room are good enough to compete with any hotel in Sylhet. If they maintain their service or do the better service regarding room service, hope they will gain their long term plan.
