PROPERTIES OF MATTER:
MEASURABLE & OBSERVABLE
PROPERTIES
Included:
Types of Properties Mini Poster
Examples of Anchor Charts
12 task cards & Answer Key
Directions
Read each task card and determine what
property of matter is being described. Once
you determine the property, use the “Types
of Properties” mini-poster to help decide
whether the property is measurable or
observable. Use the answer sheet to record
your answers. The answers should have
both the property being described &
whether it is measurable or observable.
Ex: 1. Mass - Measurable

property means property is one that
that a tool is used uses the five senses
to measure a and observations to
characteristic to describe an object.
describe the object.
Anchor Chart
I like to add anchor charts or notes into the
centers so the students can reference them and
complete the center independently, especially for
those struggling learners. Here are a few Properties
of Matter anchor charts from Pinterest to use as
inspiration.

Printing Options
There are two options for printing. The
first option is printed front to back which
allows two answer sheets to be printed on
one page. Just print it two-sided and cut it
in half so there are two answer sheets. The
second option its one-sided which should be
printed one for each student.
