Day 1: Review of letters to form ut Words
A. Preliminary Activity
1. Review
Say: Look at the pictures. Write the initial letter to complete its name.
(Tignan ang mga larawan. Isulat ang panimulang letra upang mabuo ang pangalan
nito.)

2. Motivation (Meaning Track)
Ask: who among you has a nut? Do you eat nut?
(Sino sa inyo ang may butil? Kumakain ba kayo ng butil?)
(Sine maniya bigi nen? Mangan kaam bigi?)
Motive Question:
Say: I will read a story, entitled “Jut and his Nut”. What do you want to know
about the story? Let’s find out.

(Magbabasa ako ng kuwento na pinamagatang “Si Jut at ang kanyang Butil”.
Ano ang mga nais ninyong malaman tungkol sa kuwento? Alamin natin.)
(Massa ku suwisuwi title nen “Si Jut duk bigi nen”. Ine kabayaan bi

Ask: who has a nut? What did Jut do to his nut?

The teacher will show a picture as he/she reads each sentences in the story.
Then asks the learners what is shown in the picture. The story should not be
placed on the board or in the picture.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Presentation (Modelling)
NOTE: If the learner answers either in Filipino or
Yakan, bridge the word.
Say: We call this picture a nut. (cut)
(Tinatawag natin na butil ang larawan na ito.) (gupit)
(Linangan te bigi patta inin.)(ginunting)
Let the learner repeat the word nut and cut by groups and by pairs and Lead the
learners to notice the /u/ and the /t/ sound.
Ask: what do you notice on the last two letters of the words? Are the last two
letters all the same?
(ano ang napansin ninyo sa huling dalawang lerta? Magkapareho ba sila ng huling
dalawang letra?)
(ine tapandoga bi si tuggu duwe batang me bissahin? Magsali Kemon tuggu duwe

Say: Correct! The words end with letters u and t.

2. Accuracy Track
The teacher will write the letters u and t and model the blending of the sounds.

The teacher will ask the learners in groups, triads, pairs to say the
sounds
and combine them.
3. Guided Practice
Activity 1 “Trace the line”
The teacher will ask the learner to trace the line from u to t to form ut. Let
the learner repeat the word by groups, triads, pairs and individual.
Directions: Trace the line from u to t to form ut. Read it by groups, triads, pairs
and individual.

The teacher will post chart with different rime. Read each rime aloud and ask a
volunteer from the class to clap twice when i read the rime ut and clap once if not.
Directions: Look at the chart and listen as I read each rime. Clap twice when i
read ut and clap once if not.
(Tignan ang tsart at makinig habang binabasa ko ang bawat rime. Pumalakpak ng
dalawang beses kung ut ang binasa ko at pumalakpak ng isang beses kung hindi.)

Activity 3 “My Pair”
Group the learners into six. Each group will be a given a shape with letter on it. Ask
a volunteer from the group to find their pair of shape and form the word ut.
Directions: Look for your pair of shape within other groups and form the word ut.
