API-620 Tanks are welded, low pressure storage tanks designed to contain petroleum intermediates and finished products, as well as other liquid products handles and stored by the petroleum industry. API-620 tanks can be designed up to but not beyond 14.9 PSIG and with proper application of appendix Q criteria, covers low pressure storage of liquefied hydrocarbon gases at temperatures as low as 270oF. The API-620 standard assists engineers in determining shell course thicknesses, anchorage, corrosion allowances and other critical design factors.
