First Reading: Isaiah 6:1-8 1In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty; and the hem of his robe filled the temple. 2Seraphs were in attendance above him; each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. 3And one called to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory. 4The pivots on the thresholds shook at the voices of those who called, and the house filled with smoke. 5And I said: Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts! 6Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding a live coal that had been taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. 7The seraph touched my mouth with it and said: Now that this has touched your lips, your guilt has departed and your sin is blotted out. 8Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said, Here am I; send me! Hear the word of the Lord: Thanks be to God Psalm 29 (said antiphonally) 1 Ascribe to the Lord, you powers of heaven: ascribe to the Lord glory and might. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the honour due to his name: O worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness. 3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders, the Lord upon the great waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is mighty in operation: the voice of the Lord is a glorious voice. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedar-trees: the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes them skip like a calf: Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord divides the lightning-flash: the voice of the Lord whirls the sands of the desert, the Lord whirls the deserts of Kadesh. 8 The voice of the Lord rends the terebinth trees, and strips bare the forests:

in his temple all cry, Glory! 9 The Lord sits enthroned above the water- flood: the Lord sits enthroned as a king for ever. 10 The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will give to his people the blessing of peace. Second Reading: Romans 8:12-17 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh 13for if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, Abba! Father! 16it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christif, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him. Hear the word of the Lord: Thanks be to God The Gospel: John 3:1-17 The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John chapter three beginning at the first verse. Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ 1Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. 2He came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God. 3Jesus answered him, Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above. 4Nicodemus said to him, How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mothers womb and be born? 5Jesus answered, Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not be astonished that I said to you, You must be born from above. 8The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. 9Nicodemus said to him, How can these things be?

10Jesus

answered him, Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things? 11Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen; yet you do not receive our testimony. 12If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.16For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. 17Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. For the Gospel of the Lord: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Building and Maintenance Committee: meeting this Wed. 7.30pm at Christ Church Parish Friday Night BBQs: All are welcome to these social gatherings. Their aim is twofold: first, is to enjoy each others company and perhaps, get to know each other a little better. And second, to build a sense of

community within the parish, and to encourage a unified purpose as a parish community. The BBQs are BYO meat and drink with a salad or dessert to share. We will attempt to have these gatherings on the fourth Friday of each month. See the Parish diary for upcoming BBQ dates and venues. Direct Debit Offerings: Parish Account details: CBA Account Name Kilmore Anglican Parish. BSB 06 3698. Account Number 1018 4649. People for Christ Church rosters: Since the last request for more people to help with the various rosters Trevor has received exactly zero offers. The next question may have to be, 'what do you want to do without? Morning tea, a clean church, sidespersons, etc. etc. Our rosters form an important part of the ministry of our people to each other. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated by those who take the lion's share of the work now. Op-Shop Volunteers: The parish op-shop needs to build its roster of shop attendants. Our current volunteers need some back up. Please consider this ministry. Contact Mary Saunders or Dianne Dixon for details. Saints Days this week: Tuesday 5th Boniface of Mainz, bishop & martyr (d. 754); Saturday 9th Columba of Iona, abbot & missionary (d. 597). Candles @ Christ Church Wanted - a parishioner at Christ Church to volunteer to take on the cleaning of the candle sticks and candle stands. Not an onerous job and not one that needs doing every week! All our candle sticks are lacquered so a wash in hot soapy water and a buff up with a soft cloth is all that is needed to keep them shining, and boiling water is required to remove any build up of wax. The candles need to be trimmed or cleaned of excess wax, and the votive candle stand needs to be replenished as candles are used. If anyone is interested in taking on this simple but necessary job, please see Caroline. Rosters @ Christ Church Rosters for the next few months are available this morning. If you see a roster for someone NOT at church today, please take and deliver if possible. These rosters start this week

Pew Reflections for Trinity Sunday: Rublevs icon of the Trinity has been, for many years, my inspiration whenever I want to reflect on the Trinity. To read commentaries on the icon is to allow oneself to come tentatively to the table of the Trinity and be embraced by Father, Son and Holy Spirit. For today I encourage you to locate a copy of the icon and use it as a help to bring you into the company of the Trinity where you can sit quietly and just enjoy being there. Listen to the communication occurring between Father, Son and Spirit. What are they saying? Listen to what each person of the Trinity is saying to you. Listen as you are affirmed, encouraged, challenged and forgiven. Listen as you are invited to a deeper and deeper relationship with Father, Son and Spirit. Listen as you are called and commissioned for a particular work in Gods Kingdom. Above all, listen to the words of love that are being spoken to you and the words of love being given to you to share with others. Pray today for a greater appreciation of the mystery of the Trinity and its central place in the beliefs and practices of the Church. Give thanks for the work and witness of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia, for its three Archbishops, Brown Turei, David Moxon and Winston Halapua, and for their clergy and people.
