The Merritt Live Theatre Society presents Last Rites, a locally-produced and performed play written by Leslie Hamson. It was the winner of the Nakai Players 1987 Twentyfour Hour Playwrighting Competition. Set in a Yukon trapline cabin in the 1980s, Last Rites explores the complex relationship between two estranged sisters and their relations, when a serious illness forces them to face the unfinished business of their troubled past. A cast of alllocal talent performs a moving and thought-provoking performance. Cast of characters: Charlotte, a former schoolteacher is played by Ewa DerekSkotnicki. Rachel, Charlotte's nurseis played by Amber Bolitho. Sophie, a friend and confidante to Charlotte is Alana Aspinall. Margaret, Charlotte's sister is Rachael Sanders. Jennifer, Margaret's daughter is Anneka Stroes. Frankie, Sophie's son and a close friend of Charlotte and Rachel is Robin McKenzie.
