BLOGGER
IS
WRITING
A
BOOK
ABOUT
THE
POLITICAL
CORRUPTION
UNDER
CHRISTINE
QUINN
The
blogger
and
activist
Louis
Flores
announces
that
he
has
begun
to
write
a
book
about
the
political
corruption
under
the
administration
of
New
York
City
Council
Speaker
Christine
Quinn.
When
Christine
Quinn
announced
that
she
would
be
writing
a
memoir,
I
realized
that
her
book
would
not
completely
tell
the
story
about
the
corruption
that
has
been
taking
place
in
New
York
City,
said
Louis
Flores.
Instead
of
launching
a
campaign
to
denounce
Speaker
Quinns
book,
I
decided
to
write
my
own
book.
Mr.
Flores
will
draw
on
hundreds
posts
on
his
blog,
Christine
Quinn
Sold
Out
(
http://christine-quinn-sold-out.blogspot.com/
),
to
form
the
basis
of
the
book.
Subjects,
such
as
term
limits,
the
speakers
slush
fund
scandal,
her
betrayal
of
the
LGBT
community,
her
close
association
with
Mayor
Michael
Bloomberg,
her
do- nothing
attitude
about
the
spree
of
hospital
closings,
her
inaction
at
the
painful
and
devastating
closing
of
St.
Vincents
Hospital,
and
her
enabling
of
the
NYPDs
illegal
practices
that
restrict
freedoms
of
assembly
and
speech
(the
protest
permit
requirement,
stop
and
frisk,
police
brutality,
and
the
use
of
pepper
spray)
will
be
examined
in
the
book.
People
interested
in
giving
interviews
or
sharing
information
about
the
corruption
that
has
taken
place
during
Speaker
Quinns
administration
are
invited
to
contact
Mr.
Flores
at
:
(646)
400-1168.
If
people
have
tips
or
information
to
share,
but
they
are
afraid
to
incur
the
vindictive
wrath
of
Speaker
Quinn,
they
are
invited
to
open
anonymous
Gmail
accounts
and
to
anonymously
submit
documents
and
information
to
:
nothirdterm@gmail.com
Mr.
Flores
will
self-publish
the
book.
Publication
will
be
timed
to
coincide
and
compete
with
the
publication
of
the
partial-autobiography
being
written
by
Speaker
Quinns
ghostwriter.
Mr.
Flores
will
use
the
campaign
season
leading
up
to
the
2013
mayoral
election
to
promote
his
book,
and
he
will
piggyback
on
the
promotional
campaign
paid
for
by
HarperCollins,
Speaker
Quinns
publisher,
to
generate
sales
of
his
own,
self-published
book.
