We are learning to have inquiring minds.

We are learning that there are many different ways to think about things.

We are also learning to share our ideas with our learning buddies.
The Y chart that follows helps us to understand about good sharing.

Sharing Ideas

This most amazing, massive spider web was found at Fionas house on Thursday night. We only just spotted it, as it glistened in the darkness. It was very tricky to get a photo of the web. The spider that spun the web was photographed too, as it rested on the board of wood above its web.
What can you see, what does it make you think about and what are you wondering?

See Peg Bucket Fence Grass Clothes Line Spider Web Table Pool

Think My clothes line My garage My house and my back yard A gate A path at my house My Fence My shovel

Wonder If Fiona has a pet Is that Fionas house Is there a house behind the washing line why the fence is so high What colour is the fence How big is Fionas house

SEEDS
We have been watching bean seeds grow. Today we got to share our thoughts.

See
Fluy co3on buds Growing plants Leaves More plants growing Seeds One tall plant Some plants that are a li3le bit dying

Think
My dog digging up holes in the lawn My dead plants at home My purple and pink plant The plants at my house in the back yard My seed at home My plants at home My chili is growing at home and turning red My chili growing bigger

Wonder
If all of our plants are going to die Who planted them and how long will we keep growing them If they are going to get bigger If they are not going to all die Who is going to water them I wonder why that one is the biggest How they grow Why some grow and some dont

Then we used our science ideas and personal observations to make predictions and suggest possible outcomes

Why do the plants look different? Because they were planted at dierent Fmes Some are dying because maybe we didnt water them Some might have been damaged when we planted them Maybe they didnt get the same amount of water (the biggest ones got more water) With more water they grow really quick If they had too much water they died

What could we do to make the wilted plants look better? Give them some more water We could try puJng them in the sun, but only if it stops raining What might happen if we dont water the plants? They might die They wont grow

Wonder
If the mother crocodile is going to snap open her mouth and will the baby crocodile go ying into the air Who took the photo When the baby crocodile will be able to swim on its own (Jack W) When will the baby crocodile will be able to nd its own food (Patrick) If the baby crocodile will make his own house If the water is polluted with li3er If the green bits in the water are trees Where the crocodiles live If that is a lizard having a ride and not a baby crocodile Why cant the baby crocodile swim

Two of our bean plants are growing well, but one is a bit shorter than the other. Fiona wants to put it in a shoe box so she can take special care of it. What do we think about that? What do we think will happen?

It needs some holes in the box so they can breathe Memphis It needs some sun and water Peara If it looks like its dying it needs some sun and water It needs a hole so that it can breathe like a human Telaina I think it might grow - Maya You could bring the plant out and give it some water and then put it back Hannah It will grow higher and then there will not be enough room for it to grow anymore Telaina

Some seeds on black paper A li3le stalky bit on the carrot Li3le leaves Big carrot and a li3le carrot Dierent sized carrots Carrots Green on top of the carrot Seeds Carrots that kind of look the same A bigger and a smaller carrot

Wonder
If both of the carrots are going to be eaten If it going to grow bigger If the li3le carrot is going to grow bigger than the big carrot If the big carrot grows bigger and bigger If the stalk will grow up to the sky Why the carrot is smaller then the other Why the carrot is bigger Who planted them How long it will it take to eat it Whos garden it came out of and if they are seeds Who planted them Is the bigger carrot going to turn into a big white one like at Pak n Save (Arisha) Will it get bigger Who made the seeds Who takes care of them
