Technology

Core Guard Structure

Four stainless-steel pipes form a metal frame that joins
the bezel securely with the case back. A resin case is
mounted inside the frame to protect the module from
direct shocks. This Core Guard Structure with its metal
frame mirrors the basic G-SHOCK concept of a “hollow
structure” in which the module is floated in the air with
support at just a few points.

External parts
Structural developments have led to a significant increase
®
in the number of external parts. The parts are assembled αGEL
with precision to function as part of the shock-resistant
structure, giving birth to a metal exterior
combining toughness with beauty.

Lug-integrated case back

The lugs joining the band with the case, which are subjected
to constant stress when worn on the wrist, are integrated
into the case back to reinforce their durability. Sophisticated
moulding and machining technologies have been deployed
to achieve this integration.

Metal anti-vibration washers

Metal washers are installed at the points where oversized bolts attach the
band to the case. These inhibit the bolts from loosening due to vibrations.
