920A. Lindbergh
 Aviator/scientist Charles
discovered how to oxygenize perfusion
fluid with compressed oxygen.
This was a good thing because doctors could
then use the fluid to replace lost blood in
patients temporarily.

 Frederick Grant Banting
Herbert Best discovered insulin.
This helped to find a way for people with
diabetes, who before went into comas or death
when their blood sugar was at irregular levels,
to have a regular life.

K.S. Bishop discovered Vitamin E.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which means it
cleans your body in some way.

on an 11 year old girl with mitral stenosis.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Elliott
Cutler, Dr. Claude Beck and cardiologist

performed a "digital" mitral
commissurotomy.
He used a camera to see what he was doing
better.

 Physicians George Richards Minot and
William Parry Murphy discovered Vitamin
B-12, an effective control for pernicious
anemia, in the liver.
Pernicious anemia occurs when the body
doesn’t have enough red blood cells due to
not having enough B-12, an essential vitamin
for our bodies.

1928 Alexander
Fleming discovered Penicillin, the original
antibiotic, by sheer luck and accident.
After he found the mold was deadly to
Staphylococcus, he grew it and tested it on
other bacteria, to which it was deadly.

 German doctor Werner
Forßman(Forssman) created the
technique of cardiac catheterization.
He first tested the technique on himself by
putting the catheter into his arm.
