WHAT IS E.R.P.?
ENTERPRISE- Group of people with common goal having
resources to achieve the goal.

RESOURCE- Money, manpower, material etc.

PLANNING- To ensure that nothing goes wrong

E.R.P. is an integral functional software that re-


engineers manufacturing, distribution, finance,
H.R.(human resource) and other basic processes of a
company to improve efficiency.
PROBLEM AREA IN E.R.P. IMPLIMENTATION

•The problem in attitude reform the employees at


all levels of that company .

•Employee’s knowledge for use of information


system and information technology as strategic
management method.

•Companies with slow speed of change.


•Company executive to have a definite timetable.
If time schedules and deadline are not set, there
is problem in E.R.P.

•Misunderstanding and not having any previous


experience in estimating the cost may lead to
problem in E.R.P. implementation. Because their
are substantial additional costs such as
consultation, customization, training & education
are related to E.R.P.

1. GAP ANALYSIS-
This involve negotiation between company
requirement and functions of package.

2. TEAM BUILDING-
Selection of experienced consultant &
integrator because there are few experienced
persons & too many project.
3.ASSIGNMENT OF CO-ORDINATOR-
It is better to invite outside consultant
with experience in package installation . These
consultant can act as neutral person to resolve
conflicts, push the project ahead & give
direction to the project.

4.CLEARLY DEFINING COMPANY OBJECTIVE


AND TARGET-
Company should know why they are
implementing E.R.P. and what are their targets.
5.These objective of targets are known
&recognize through out company.

6.SPEED OF DECISION MAKING –


It involve the manner in which company
management taking decision in E.R.P.
implementation.
THE FUTURE OF E.R.P. PACKAGES
•Collect and grasp a broad range of accurate
information.

•Organizing necessary common functions putting


them into modules will minimize customization
during the implementation.

•It is difficult to conceive the core business


reconstruction by just one company without the
support of an integrator.
•In terms of improved package functions and
implementation project promotion, efforts on
the part of vendors have a major influence.

•The most important point in favour of using


these packages, is their ability to adapt to
version upgrades of the packages themselves.

•In core business systems, adaptation to the


latest version is very important. Otherwise, it
will mean that with new systems, much money
has been spent in constructing legacy systems
with no flexibility and short lifetimes.
