Applications in this area are wide, it makes possible the synthesis and processing of derivate of hydrocarbons. It is use in food industry to process meals and in medical areas to create medicines.

How it relates with other sciences?

It is an interdisciplinary science. It need mathematics, physics and biology in first place. But need the support of many other sciences to create knowledge. So it needs knowledge from the other sciences to create its own knowledge, to get data, realize and analysis and prove the results.
