But what do you do with you old
gadgets?

Be careful while disposing of the old one. Throwing it
into the dustbin is not the proper disposal of an
electronic equipment which has attained obsolescence
as per YOUR judgment.

We dont know but we some how produce 38 tons e-
waste every 60 seconds..
What is e-waste?

Electronic waste (e-waste) comprises waste
electronics/electrical goods that are not fit for their
originally intended use or have reached their end of
life.

So why are big organizations are creating a fuzz about
it?

Is e-waste hazardous?
Now what..?
United states of America made India one of its official
dumps ..

By 2020 There will be 500% more dumping

Now what?
The objectives of the initiative are:
1. Reduce the risks to the population and the pollution
of the environment resulting from unsafe handling.

2. Focus on knowledge transfer to and skills upgrade of
all involved stakeholders through trainings and
seminars.

3. Target mainly the existing informal recyclers
allowing for their maximum but safe participation in
future e-waste management.
How to achieve it
But With a twist...
Components of e-waste
management

The major components of e-waste management are:

1. e-waste collection, sorting and transportation

2. e-waste recycling; it involves dismantling, recovery of
valuable resource, sale of dismantled parts and
export of processed waste for precious metal
recovery

Do you know ..?
E-waste contains valuable materials such as copper, silver,
gold and platinum which could be processed for their
recovery.

In 2012 only 20% e-waste was utilized make the company
gain a profit of $12 billion or Rs 6000000000 that year.

Guess what can India do if it utilizes what it have..

The twist
Saving environment and making a few bucks out of
your waste

Because every household generates e-waste of Rs
2000 approx each year..

3R system with hidden profits..$$$
