Why do we have that rule?

It makes learning names easier and
means everyone feels safe.

It is polite to take turns when

talking and means everyone can
be heard
If we dress smart we will think smart!

Extra information
If you need to leave your
seat, raise your hand first and
get permission from the
teacher.
Individual work = silent work

less time to mark your work and give
you praise.

clear.

Whats the rule?

learning
objectives each

rubber and my
exercise book to
every lesson.

Why do we have that rule?

These tell us what the point of the lesson
is. Theyre a good way of checking what
weve learned in the lesson too.

This makes learning easier.

Ask yourself: what am I
learning today and why?
Has my learning been
successful?

Christian beliefs about

the nature of God

5th September 2014

To know: That Christians believe in one God (monotheism).

To understand: That Christians believe that God is Trinity.
To be able to: Give three reasons why Christians believe that God is Trinity

What will success look like?

You will be able to:
Explain what is meant by monotheism, give two reasons why Christians
believe in one God, explain what Christians mean when they talk about
the Trinity, name the three persons of the Trinity, give two reasons why
Christians believe in the Trinity.

In pairs make a list of as many

places (sources) you can think
of that we can find out what
Christians believe about God.
Did you get any of these?
Creeds, bible, teachings of the Church,
hymns, worship, objects, pictures,
statues, buildings, rites of passage

Key words:
Monotheism = Belief in one God
Unity = Gods way of being one
Trinity = Belief that God is three in one

You will work in teams of two.

Person A: Research Gods unity and why
Christians believe there is only one God. (You
should aim to write three points about Gods unity
and four points about why Christians believe this)

Person B: Research what Christians believe about

the Trinity and why they believe this. (You should
aim to write three points about what Christians
believe about the Trinity and four points about why
they believe this)

Now share information. Teach your partner what

you have learned. Each person must have the
following in their book: Gods unity, why Christians
believe in one God, God as Trinity, why Christians
believe that God is Trinity.

It is the teaching of
the Church

Its a sacred
Mystery.

It explains the
relationship
between the
Father,
Son,
and
Spirit.

The Trinity is seen in

the Bible in events
like Jesus birth.

The Trinity is not clearly

Mentioned in the Bible.

It is disproved by
science.

Its impossible to
believe that
one person is
also three people.

1. What is monotheism?
2. Give two reasons why Christians believe in one God.
3. What do Christians mean by the word Trinity?
4. Who are the three persons of the Trinity?
5. Give two reasons why Christians believe in the Trinity.
Look again at the success criteria:
Explain what is meant by monotheism, give two reasons why Christians believe in one God,
explain what Christians mean when they talk about the Trinity, name the three persons of the
Trinity, give two reasons why Christians believe in the Trinity.
