A museum is a public collection of objects testifying to


human cultural development. It collects, documents,
receives, researchers interprets and communicates these
through display.
LIGHTING
There should be no direct day lighting falling on museum
objects as this cause damage. Therefore display rooms
should be provided with flexible lighting system: no
permanently built in lights, no fixed wall and ceiling
lights.
Guidelines for lighting:
Very sensitive display objects-50-80lux
Sensitive display objects-100-150lux
Less Sensitive Display Object-150-300lux
UV radiation must not exceed 25W/m
CLIMATE
The ideal temperature for display rooms are 15-18 degree
Celsius in winters and 20-22degree Celsius in summers.
