scripture that is part of the ancient Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, one of the several books that comprise the more general Vedic tradition. It is revealed scripture in the views of Hindus, the scripture for Hindus represents the words and message of god, the book is considered among the most important texts in the history of literature and philosophy. The teacher of the Bhagavad Gita is Lord Krishna, who is revered by Hindus as a manifestation of God (Parabrahman) Himself, and is referred to within as Bhagavan, the Divine One.
The context of the Gita is a conversation between
Lord Krishna and the Pandava prince Arjuna taking place in the middle of the battlefield before the start of the Kurukshetra War with armies on both sides ready to battle. Responding to Arjuna's confusion and moral dilemma about fighting his own cousins who command a tyranny imposed on a disputed empire, Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and prince, and elaborates on different Yogic and Vedantic philosophies, and explains different ways in which the soul can reach the supreme being with examples and analogies. This has led to the Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu theology and also as a practical, self-contained guide to life.
TEMPLE WHERE BHAGWAT
GITA IS EMBEDED
Change is the law of life
What you call death is life itself In a moment you are king and in a moment you are poor man. Surrender unto the Lord He is ultimate support He who experiences this is completely free from FEAR, WORRY and DESPAIR whatever you do offer it unto him By you shall forever experience eternal bliss
Leaders and politicians may take lessons from the life of
Mahatma Gandhi, who was undoubtedly a great and busy politician, with respect to his daily evening prayer meeting and regular recitation of the text of Bhagavad-gita. He followed this principle of life most faithfully, even up to the last moment of his lamented life. People in general and the leaders in particular, may follow the footprints of Mahatma Gandhi, if they at all want to do some good to their followers. Such regular habit of reciting the reading of the Bhagavad-gita makes one able to get rid of the demoniac way of life and gradually rise up to the plane of pure devotional life of the god. When such devotional life is enriched by recitation of Bhagavad-gita, all the good qualities of the god automatically overcome the reciter without any extraneous effort on his part. Those who have developed such existence of life, generally known as spiritual life, are called Mahatmas in the language of Bhagavad-gita.

Thousands of years before the introduction and the
development of spiritual intelligence, Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita had discussed about the spiritual intelligence that the present day researchers are talking about. Spiritual intelligence provides us with complete personality and truthfulness. It is the intelligence of our spirit. By the help of this intelligence, we contemplate over the basic questions of our life and reshape our answers. To resolve the conflict arising in the mind of Arjuna, Lord Krishna discussed about the four dimensions of conflict and awakened his soul through spiritual discourse. Spiritual intelligence is the finetuning of intellectual faculty and this is nonphysical and inspirational in nature. The Bhagavad-Gita teaches this wisdom. It literatures on spiritual intelligence and uses hermeneutics a qualitative research methodology, which is the interpretation of an ancient or a classical literature
RESOLUTIO N
Empowerment is a relatively recent movement in the context
of human development so far as western world is concerned. India has long been a civilization giving immense respectto women and providing them equal oppoprtunities to exercise power in day to day life and inmportant decisions. Here the popular saying goes that- Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra devatah - meaning whereever women are resopected and worshipped, there lies divinity and prosperity. The present paper analyses the concept of women empowerment in the cultural perspective of India and brings out the anomaliesin the modern/ western concept of women empowerment which, according to the authors, is one-sided and largely materialistic in nature, leading to chaos and imbalance in personal as well ass social life. As per the authors, thismisconception needs to be immediately modified for the larger interest of the mankind creating better opportunities for life on this beautiful planet. This paper then suggests ways and means to empower women in the true sense as per the Indian thought and philosophy. The paper concludes with quoting the Bhagavad-Gita that the secret of empowerment is the self effort and balance in all walks of life (Bhagavad-Gita:6.6)
