IGB Integral ground bar

Ground bar material is electrical
grade aluminum
Wrap around construction with two
1/16 ground busbars
50% continuous current capacity

Schneider Swire

P. 16

IGB system - advantages

Whole enclosure housing
prevents access to live parts
Large earthing cross section
Shorter earthing path
Low ground to phase impedance.

Conductors
High purity copper
( 99.9% ~ 99.999% )

Silver plated over entire length.

Cross section greater than UL

standard. Bar size is largest in all
competitors.
Thickness is 6.36mm,1/4
Results: Low contact resistance, low
voltage drop,

J series - Differences from Normal busway

It requires more support as the short circuit forces acting are much higher increased surge clamps
It uses some special components
Takes three times the time to manufacture than normal busway
Investment in tooling of the same
Thus it is more expensive than normal busway

I line I - Types offered

Plug in Busway - Standard lengths offered 6 , 8 and 10 ft ( CP50XG)
Note no riser is offered *
Feeder busway ( CF50xG ) - Is available from SSG only and is in variable
length. Minimum is 18 and in increments of 1
Same Plug in Units are used, I.e. PKA, PFA , PBLA and PNS types. Flexibility
and a selling point to industrial customers
Available only in Copper from SSG presently.

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 37

I line I - Construction
Steel housing : 1.8 mm electro galvanized steel
Epoxy electrostatic powder coated
Ground bar /housing made of aluminum and only on TOP *
Ground bar rated for 50 % of phase
Air separated bars inside the housing and not sandwich *
There is insulated fibreglass supports for the bars

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 38

I line I - Conductors
Silver flashed copper conductor across full length.
Two sizes - 0.94 for 200 A and 2 for 400/600A
Thickness of bars is same 1/4 like I line II
Insulation is Mylar like I line II , with two layers of 7.5 mil each

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 39

I Line I - Joint Pak

Makes the joint between two sections like in I line II
It is part of the busway on one side and cannot be removed *
Thus there is no flexibility in installation , you cannot change the side of
joint pak at site. *
Has the visitite bolt similar to the I line II with the red torque indicator.
The length of the bolt is different
You can remove one section without affecting adjacent sections.

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 40

I line I - Fittings
Only standard fittings are offered.
Elbows - There are left and right elbows, due to earth non symmetry of earth
bar. Both edgewise and flat wise are offered.
Elbows are standard 18in length and not variable.
ETB is available: CPxxxGETB
End Closure can fit joint pak end as well
Flange end is also standard.

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 41

I Line I - Installation and Engineering

Key Point : Structure is not symmetrical
Direction of busway - very important as there is earth on the top and joint pak is
fixed to the busway on one side.
The phase sequence has to be taken into account due to earth
Unlike I line II there is less flexibility at the time of installation
Brass cannot be used for this busway!!

07/14/16

Schneider Swire

P. 42

I line I - Others
Expansion units are important here and recommended as the joint paks cannot
take care of expansion like I line II.
ONLY IP 20 OFFERED *
Reducers are available and important. Available from I line II to I line I upto
400/630 A. Also within I line I from 400/630 to 250A.

Once drawings are received and approved we start to manufacture.
Later on we receive the PO from Purchase Dept. - Difficult to link with Sales

Do we wait for P.O. in future ?
Proceed after drawing / BOM is finalized by Engineering / Sales?
There is a time gap between the two documentation receipts.
For large order separate POs are released for each release. Creates duplication.
