YOU WILL NOT DEFINE ME

The issue of sexism and
discrimination is another bag
of ignorance I have to carry.
Even though I wish it was not
something I have to be
mindful of, I feel that it will
work in my favor.
This is something that I
feel I have to be a part of,
because it does not only affect
me and my family, but it will
affect the future women of the
world if it is not resolved.
I will not be defined by

I was a basketball player for my high

school. Our girls team experienced
many situations of inequality when it
came to the boys, even though we were
just as good as them. we always
practiced in the hot gym and no one
ever came to our games.
Our varsity girls played before the boys,
at the girls games we would have about
20-30 fans in the stadium, but for the
boys games almost 100 people showed.
This really brought us down.
