Reasons :
The format of the papers are new to the
pupils.
For BI Pemahaman : Questions 21, 22, 23
and 25 answers have to be written in
complete sentences.
There are a lot of spelling and grammatical
errors in the answers.
The questions require pupils to give reasons
and opinions which are considered
challenging.
Most of the pupils are not able to give
answers which are not found in the text.

For BI Penulisan : pupils who could not


understand the text in Section A could not
transfer the information correctly.
Pupils have to write an essay of 50-80 words
and another essay of 80-100 words which
they have never done before.
Pupils are not able to express themselves
well when writing sentences and paragraphs.
There are many spelling and grammatical
mistakes in the essays.

WAYS TO OVERCOME :
Give pupils encouragement and motivation
from time to time.
Do more model papers so that pupils are used
to the new format and are expose to a variety
of questions on grammar, comprehension,
information transfer and writing sentences and
paragraphs.
Teach pupils to write essays email, letter,
script, notes, speech, diary entry etc.
Get pupils to look up the dictionary for the
meanings of difficult words.
Always remind pupils to check their answers
for errors.
