History of Cali
Santiago de Cali is one of the oldest cities in
Colombia and America. It was founded in
1536 at the hands of conquistador Sebastian
de Belalcazar.

Its weather is warm.
It is a city which has many tourist spots, one of
those places is the hill of the three crosses and
Christ the King.

The cultural activity in the city has flourished around
centers like the Departmental Institute of Art and
Culture, the Institute of Popular Culture, the
Municipal Theater, Museum of Modern Art La
Tertulia, The Departmental School of Theater, and
Universidad del Valle, The River Avenue, The
Ermita Church, The Pascual Guerrero Stadium, The
Rivers Boulevard, The Caicedo Small Square, The
Zoo, Sebastian de Belalcazars Monument.

Typical food
The city has a diverse gastronomy, there are several
kinds of foods that stand out such as: the Sancocho
de Gallina, Atollado Rice. The typical drink of Cali is
the Champus and cholado. There are desserts like
manjar blanco, gelatina de pata and aborrajado
Valluno, pandebonos. In Cali you can find a variety
cuisine as in any other city in the world, as there is a
variety of restaurants specializing in different dining
areas.
