Types of report
During your time at university you may be asked to
write different types of reports, depending upon the
subject area which you have chosen.
These could include:
Subject topic reports
Internship reports
Reports of a work placement or industrial visit
Reports of a field trip or field work.

Write the main theme in the center of a piece
of paper.
Write down all the ideas and keywords related
to your topic starting from the center and
branching out along lines of connecting ideas.

completion of the project report, Report on Agricultural
Development Bank.

In this section you should state how you carried out
your enquiry.
What form did your enquiry take ?
Did you carry out interviews or questionnaires,
How did you collect your data ?
What measurements did you make ?
How did you choose the subjects for your interviews ?
Present this information logically and concisely.

Results or findings
Present your findings in as simple a way as possible.
The more complicated the information looks, the
more difficult it will be to interpret.
There are a number of ways in which results can be
presented. Here are a few :

Discussion
This is the section where you can analyze and
interpret your results.
Information which you have collected, should
be explained its significance to be illustrated.
Identify
important issues and suggest

It is important that you give precise details of all the
work by other authors which has been referred to
within the report. Details should include :
Authors name and initials
Date of publication
Title of the book, paper or journal
Publisher
Place of publication
Page numbers
Details of the journal volume in which the article has
appeared.

When referencing an article in an academic journal, the form to follow is:
Author of article,
date of journal,
title of article in inverted commas,
title of journal underlined or in italics,
Volume of journal, Issue number,
Page number of the journal that the article begins on, or pages it
starts and finishes on.
For example:

Standard form for a web bibliography entry:
Author's surname,

A reference has page numbers and is directly
referred to in the text
A bibliography is a book or long article that
provided useful background of reading
Do not confuse references and bibliography

Appendices
An appendix contains additional information related to
the report but which is not essential to the main
findings.
This can be consulted if the reader wishes but the
report should not depend on this.
You could include details of interview questions,
statistical
data, a glossary of terms, or other
information which may be useful for the reader.
Detailed drawings, or other listings which might
obscure the main text can be put here.

Presentation
Leave wide margins for binding and feedback
comments from your tutor.
Paragraphs should be short and concise.
Headings should be clear - highlighted in bold or
underlined.
Your section should be font size of 16 pt, heading
should be 14 pt and description should be 12 pt.

It is better to follow Times New Roman font
Line Spacing within paragraph should be 1.5 and
between paragraph is one or two spacing.
All diagrams and illustrations should be labelled and
numbered.
All standard units, measurements and technical
terminology should be listed in a glossary of terms at
the back of your report.
