The Mask
The film begins with a diver carrying out underwater activities on the coast of the city, there accidentally opens a

box of metal that has spent centuries at the bottom of the sea, this leaves a mask wood and metal that
floats and is carried by the tide toward the city. From here the plot unfolds in the city of Edge City (City Limits)
and revolves around the lives of two men: the first is Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), an awkward and shy fanatic
bank executive caricatures who is constantly mistreated and humiliated by those around him: your boss,
your home, etc. His only friends are his dog Milo and his companion Charlie Schumacher (Richard Jeni). The other
man is Dorian Tyrell (Peter Greene), an owner Coco Bongo club mobster, using as a cover for their dirty business,
which wants to expand and unseat the king of crime in the city, Niko (Orestes Matacena). The lives of these two men
are crossed when Tyrell sends his girlfriend, Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz), the bank where Stanley works with the
excuse to open an account to photograph the safe with a hidden camera and so plan a robbery.

Stanley is totally enthralled by the beauty of Tina and she also expressed some interest in Stanley since
unlike the common man refers to it with respect and manners. That's the only good thing that happened that day, and
later in the machine shop swindled in repairs and you get a car in very poor condition in return, when you try to enter
the Coco Bongo with Charlie and two girls prevent it not keep up, although he manages to talk to Tina, who works
there. After walking back to his house, complete with meeting the mysterious wooden mask floating in the harbor city,
clutching what looked like a corpse that turned out to be a lot of floating debris, and taking her home.
Once at home Stanley puts the mask which demonstrates true power to induce him to do so, it adapts to your face
and pulls out a hidden side of his personality, uninhibited and kinky his cartoon version molding his body and reality
around to make jokes and situations Tex Avery style. Stanley uses his powers to scare your home embittered, punish a
gang of thugs who try to corner, mufflers sodomized with the mechanics who swindled.

The next morning, Stanley is not really sure if what he lived was real or a dream, so pulling the mask through the
window, but with a boomerang returns to his apartment. Stanley is interrogated by Mitch Kellaway (Peter
Riegert), police lieutenant and journalist Peggy Brandt (Amy Yasbeck), who are investigating the activities of
Mask night. The night after Stanley tempts the idea of re-using the mask, which ends up doing. Decides to go see one
of the performances of Tina Coco Bongo, but first robs the bank where he works, anticipating men Tyrell, who
planned the same, so while he was fleeing police peppered the believing them thieves responsible. Mask used the
stolen money to enter the club, where a fast-paced mambo dancing with Tina. He is stopped by Tyrell, but it
escapes. Tyrell is temporarily arrested by Kellaway, accused of theft. Kellaway finds a piece pajama Stanley
in the club.

The next day, Stanley is visited by Tina on the bench and when she shows interest in the Mask lied saying they
are friends and that can get you an appointment, which she accepts. Subsequently interview with an expert
psychologist in masks Dr. Arthur Neuman (Ben Stein), who tells him that his is a mask of Loki, the mischievous
Norse god of darkness, though the doctor doubts the wisdom of Stanley since the mask seems to have lost his powers
and can not prove it is real. Stanley concludes that the attributes of Loki mask releases the part of the personality that
the individual usually inhibited, but it only works at night having been created by a god of darkness . When
Stanley asks the doctor for advice on how to solve the dilemma that Tina is interested in the mask while he did it
interests you, as a way to get rid of him, the doctor advised to present as both so she can choose.
