EM WAVE DETECTOR
REVIEW
1

AIM
Detection of Electro magnetic waves
using Arduino

Why do we need to detect EM

waves ?

The space research facilities like National Radio Astronomy

Observatory electromagnetic disturbances can interfere the
results.

Electromagnetic waves are also known to be a potential method

of hacking so in high security areas like Pentagon EM waves are
required to be detected and identified.

Auroville is a meditation centre in Tamil Nadu, India which

requires no EM radiation zone for near perfect silence.

THEORY:

All electronic devices have a basic electronic circuit through which

electricity is transmitted.

The current flows in the circuit between components thereby creating

Electromagnetic fields.

These Electromagnetic fields is often predominant outside the device

and are capable of interfering with electromagnetic
fields of other devices.

For Example: The buzzing sound in your earphone when your phone
is near the laptop is because of the EM interference.

PRINCIPLE:

The working of EM wave detector lies in the principle of

successful receive of EM wave at the antenna

The radio waves travels through the air at the speed of light.

When the wave arrives at the receiver antenna, they make

electrons vibrate inside it.

This produces an electric current that recreates the original

signal.

Thus the properties of original signal can be measured.
