Jinotega

As a
department,
Jinotega
consists of 7
municipalities.
It is one of the
most extensive
departments in
the country.

The department of Jinotega produces


80% of Nicaragua`s coffe is exported
to the United States, Russia, Canada
and Europe.

It is a beutiful
place surrounded
by mountains and
lush vegetation,
with cities of
quiet and clean
environment and
peasant villages.

There are many tourist


attractions, among them are the
hill of the cross, the lake Apanas
and Bosawas reserve.

The climate of the


municipality is
characterized by tropical
savannah high, the
average temperature is
between 17 and 27
degrees celsius.
The climate has
changed, Jinotega is not
like before, full of fog
until almost noon, the
weather is much warmer
and the summer period
(January-June) is longer
in winter (July to
December) is much
more cold and rain.
