IRRITATING AND
HARMFUL
Hazard: This symbol designates substances which may have
irritant effect on the skin, eyes and respiratory organs. When
taken up to the body these substances cause slight damages.
Caution: Avoid contact with the human body, including
inhalation of the vapors and in the cases of malaise consult a
doctor.

TOXIC

Hazard: These substances are very hazardous to health when

inhaled, swallowed or contacted with the skin, may even lead to
death.
Caution: Avoid contact with the human body. Immedeatly
consult a doctor in case of malaise

FLAMMABLE

Hazard: Spontaneously flammable substances. Substances

sensetive to moisture. Flammable liquids.
Caution: Avoid contact with air and moisture or water. Keep
away from open fire, heat sources and sparks.

OXIDIZING
Hazard: Oxidizing substances can ignite combustible material or
worsen existing fire and thus makes fire fighting more difficult.
Caution: Keep away from combustible material. Use gloves when
you work with this kind of susbtances.

EXPLOSIVE

Hazard: This symbol designates substances which may explode

under definite conditions.
Caution : Avoid shock, friction, sparks and heat.

CORROSIVE

Hazard: Living tissues as well as equipments are destroyed on

contact with these chemicals.
Caution: Dont breathe vapors and avoid contact with skin and
eyes. Wear gloves, lab coat and safety goggles while working
with these chemicals.

ENVIROMENTAL
HAZARD

Hazard: These chemicals are toxic to aquatic organism. They

cause long term demage on the ecosystem.
Caution: Dont pour down these chemicals to the drain. Store
their wastes seperately and send away with the aid of expert.

RADIOACTIVE
Hazard: These substances emit radiation. Radioactive materials
are extremely hazardous when inhaled.
Caution: They should be kept in lead containers.
