Last Sunday, I Budi and Iwan went to the
beach. We went there for holiday. We left at
8.00 a.m. and arrived there at 12.00 a.m. It is
about a hundred and fifty kilometres to go to
the beach from my village.
There were a lot of students at the beach.
They had the holiday by swimming, fishing
and sun bathing. We watched the big ship
sailed at the sea. It was the biggest ship I had
ever seen. After going around and taking
some photographs, we went home, we

The Legend of Banyuwangi

Once upon, there was a King named Sulahkromo. His Prime Minister
was Raden Sidopekso. He had a beautiful wife named Sri Tanjung. The
king wanted her to be his wife. One day, the King sent the Prime
Minister for long mission. While the Prime Minister was going, the King
tried to get Sri Tanjung. But the King was failed.
he was very angry and upset. When Sidopekso was back, the King told
him that his wife was unfaithful with him. Prime Minister was very
angry with his wife. Sri Tanjung said that it was not true. However,
Sidopekso said that he would kill her. He took her to the river bank.
Before she was killed and thrown into the river, she said that she
would prove the truth. Then Sidopekso killed her and threw her body
into the dirty river. River soon became clean and started spreading the
wonderful
and
fragrant
aroma.
Sidopekso
said,
Banyu
Wangi..Banyuwangi. It means Fragrant Water Banyuwangi prove of
love which born of noble and sacred. It became the origin of the
Banyuwangi town.
