Andrew Jackson
When I was in school we
all learned Jackson was
born in N.C.
Now, I believe most
historians agree his
birthplace was more likely
in S.C.
As Ms. Franks said a
couple of days ago the
Jackson family was one of
many families that moved
out of NC/SC because of
the Rip Van Winkle effect

The Jackson family

settled in
Tennessee
This is a picture of
his house: The
Hermitage

Andrew Jackson
Battle of New Orleans
1814
After the Treaty of
Ghent, the War of
1812 raged on in the
west
This final battle was a
ruthless victory for
the Americans over
the numerically
superior British troops

Andrew Jackson
Jackson was and
remains a
controversial figure
in American History
Jackson was a War
Hero
Jackson was a slave
owner
Jackson served two
terms as President

Jackson hated the

National Bank, vetoing
out of existence
Jackson was not a
friend to the Native
Americans
He instituted the Trail
of Tears sending
thousands of Cherokee
on a forced march to
present day Oklahoma

Jackson soon will

Be replaced on the
$20.00 bill with
Harriet Tubman
Which is fitting
since he
Hated the National
Bank
