CONTEMPORARY WORLD

Amos 1:1
The words of Amos, one of the
shepherds of Tekoathe vision he
saw concerning Israel two years
before the earthquake, when Uzziah
was king of Judah and Jeroboam son
of Jehoash was king of Israel.

Tekoa
Tekoa was the native place of Prophet Amos.
Tekoa is a village 12 miles approx 16 km
south from Jerusalem.
Even today Tekoa Exist in Israel south of
Jerusalem.

It is very interesting to note that even today there is a town called Tekoa
just like in the BIBLE.

What's even more interesting is that there is a street named after the
prophet Amos
called AMOS STREET

This is proof that there really lived a prophet called Amos in Israel and that
the Bible is True.

In 1989, the Tekoa Agro-Technology
Farm established in 1986 was named
Enterprise of the Year by the Israeli

In NIV Jeremiah Chapter 6 verse 1-3 are put in
quotes.
"Flee for safety, people of Benjamin! Flee from
Jerusalem!
Sound the trumpet in Tekoa! Raise the signal over
Beth Hakkerem! For disaster looms out of the north,
even terrible destruction. I will destroy Daughter
Zion, so beautiful and delicate.

Amos was a Shepherd from Tekoa who
sounded the Prophetic Trumpet about
the coming destruction against the
northern Kingdom.

He said:

The Lord roars from Zion


and thunders from Jerusalem;
the pastures of the shepherds dry
up,
and the top of Carmel withers.

Why do lions roar?


Roaring is a strong form of communication
amongst lions
Male lions use roaring to show ownership of
their territory.
Its all about establishing presence, territory
and communication.
Its a sign that they are in their territory and a
warning to others.

What are the Four Sins of


Damascus?

Damascus is the capital city of Syria.


Hazael is king of Syria. (2Kings 13:3)

The sins of Damascus are the wickedness


that king Hazael did against Israel (2 Kings
8:12)

1. Set fire to their fortified places.


2. Kill their young men with the
sword.
3. Dash their little children to the
ground.

SYRIA and ISRAEL


Israel also regarded Syria as an enemy
state and generally prohibits its citizens
from going there.
There have not been diplomatic relations
between the two countries since the
creation of both countries in the mid-20th
century.
Efforts have been made from time to time
to achieve peace between the two states,
but without success.

Two young Jewish boys were killed on May 9 in the town
