1)The Mould wall is coated with a
refractory ceramic coating (applying
Ceramic Slurry , spinning, dying ,
baking).
2)Starting rotation of the mould at a pre
determined speed.
3)Pouring of Molten metal directly into
the mould (no gating system is
employed).
4)The mould is stopped after the casting
CHARACTERISTICS OF CENTRIFUGAL

1) Free from defects.
2) Non metallic impurities which
segregate toward the bore can be
machined off.
3) Less loss of metal in compared to
conventional and sand casting.
4) Better mechanical properties.
5) Production rate is high.
6) Can be employed to manufacture
bimetallic pipes.

What is Semi-centrifugal
casting?
Utilizes centrifugal
force to cause the
molten metal to flow
from a central
feeding reservoir.
It is used
primarily for
such items as
wheels.
In semi-centrifugal
casting one or more
sand molds are
rotated about their
central axis.
WHAT IS CENTRIFUGING?
Is a modification of the semicentrifugal casting.
In this case the castings need not have axes
of rotation but are spaced in molds about a
central feed reservoir.
Low rotational speeds are used that are only
sufficient to force molten metal to molds.
