Water and its uses

A chemical compound .
The solid phase is known as ice and gas
phase is called steam.
It serve as different purpose like domestic
purposes , industries etc.

Resources of the water

Sea , river , underground water , well , lakes ,
Frozen water
97% of the water on the Earth is salt water, and
only 3% is fresh water .

World water supply and distribution

22% of worldwide water use is
industrial.Major industrial users include
hydroelectric dams,thermoelectric power
plants .
8% of worldwide water use is for household
purposes.
Recreational, Environmental , etc.

Water Pollution
Water pollution is one of the main concerns of the
world today.
Sewage, sludge, garbage, and even toxic
pollutants are all dumped into the water

water scarcity and conflict

In future, even more water will be needed to
produce food because the Earth's population is
forecast to rise to 9 billion by 2050 .
more than 1.2 billion, live in areas ofphysical
water scarcity.
To avoid a global water crisis, farmers will have
to strive to increase productivity to meet
growing demands for food .

Why Do We Need To Conserve Water ?

To save of droughts, floods and natural
disasters .
Save from diseases .
To live and survive .
to stop global warming .

How To Conserve the water ?

99% going to waste down the drain

Rainwater harvesting
Reduce the usage of drinkable water
using water efficient showerheads,
clothes washers, dishwashers and
garden irrigation systems.

Make devices to alert
Send space ships in search of water
Built less water consuming buildings
