Types Of Audiences
Audience profiling is important in the media industry as
without the audience the media would have no income
and would not succeed.
Media is becoming more and more competitive and
different media outlets are fighting for the biggest
audience as the more income means the more money.

Audience Profiling
Niche Niche audience are a smaller audience. They have a very
selective taste and will usually read media or magazines based on their
interests.
Mass Otherwise known as broadcast audience. Mass audience are
people who regularly watch television soaps and sitcoms. Mass
audience are mostly the average person.
Socio-economic Status

Group A Lawyers, Doctors, Scientists and well paid professionals.


Group B Teachers, Middle Management, Fairly well paid professionals.
Group C1 Junior Management, Bank Clerks, Nurses, White Collar
Professionals.
Group C2 Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Blue Collar
Professionals.
Group D Drivers, Post Sorters, Manual Workers.
Group E Students, Unemployed, Pensioners.
