A City of Wonders

Architecture
There was a big river by them. They used it for food, water and wheat

They figured out how to farm on the water. They sunk wood into the water
for walls. then they filled in the area inside of the logs with mud boulders
and reeds.

They used these mini islands for a farming sources which cleared out the
food shortage

They had ceremonial plazas in which they would do many religious rituals

They enclosed the area with sculptures of serpents.

Inside the area was a big Ziggurat which they would make sacrifices for
their gods. This temple would get bigger each time an emperor died,
Aztec Empire
The arrival of the Aztecs was sometime around 1250 C.E.

The Aztecs had to carry everything by hand because they hadnt had the
wheel

Aztecs arrived in the mid 1200s C.E.

After Teotihuacans collapse around 700, a group from the north, the
Toltecs, migrated into the valley.

Toltecs capital was called Tollan, which boasted large pyramids topped with
temples.

During the 1100s, new groups had taken over Tolec cities and made new
Daily life
They were divided into five main social classes.At the top was the king and
his family
Under that was a noble class of government officials,The third and largest
class were made up of commoners.
They were able to move up and down in classes

Women were able to become priestesses

30% of the population were peasants, There were smaller classes within the
peasant class
Most commoners worked as fishers, farmers,laborers, and servants.
 THE AZTEC EMPIRE
The aztec empire started out as an easy living
civilization, but it got harder and harder as the
years went on. The government got tougher to
live with and the money dropped and made the
land turn into a poverty land with either rich or
poor.
Aztecs werent very civilized they sacrificed
animals and even humans. They sacrificed
things for their gods. When they made their
temples they tried to make it as close as they
could to the sky.
