DEFINITION:

Workforce diversity is workforce consisting of broad mix


of workers from different racial and ethnic background of
different ages and genders and of different domestic and
national cultures.

Workforce diversity means that the organizations are


becoming more heterogeneous mix of people in terms of
gender, age, race, ethnicity, mental or physical abilities,
sexual orientation, culture, religion, marital status and
other characteristics.

There are two dimensions of workforce


diversity.

Primary Dimension

Secondary Dimension
Primary Dimension

Mainly includes inborn differences such as age, race,


ethnicity, gender, physical ability and sexual orientation.

Secondary Dimension

Mainly includes education, religion, beliefs, marital status,


family background and work culture.
