General rule

With verbs ending
in :o, s, x, sh or ch:

With verbs ending in
vowel + y:

It takes s .

With verbs ending in
consonant + y:

It changes y into I and

Note that:

Adverbs of frequency like


usually, sometimes, almost,
never, etc, are used to
express how often things
happen.
They come:
Before the verb. For
example: I usually go to
school by bus.
After the verb To Be. For
example: She is often
with her friends at
ME TOO / ME NEITHER
ME TOO / ME NEITHER
We use me, too and me, neither when we want to say
that we have the same opinion as, or are in the same
situation as, another person.
Me, too

We say me, too when we are reacting to a grammatically positive statement:

Sam: I love tennis.


Mary: Me, too.
(= Sam loves tennis and Mary loves tennis.)

Sam: Im hungry.
Mary: Me, too.
(= Sam is hungry and Mary is hungry.)

Me, neither

We say me, neither when we are reacting to a grammatically negative statement:

Sam: I dont like football.


Mary: Me, neither.
(= Sam doesnt like football and Mary doesnt like football.)

Sam: Im not tired.


Mary: Me, neither.
(= Sam isnt tired and Mary isnt tired.)
A: Ive been to Antalya.
B. Me too.
A: Ive never been to Antalya.
B. Me neither.
A: I havent been to Africa.
B: Me neither.
A: I have watched a lot of
cartoons.
B: Me too.
A: Selma hasnt flown in a plane.
B: Me neither.
