RULES
1. A Subject pronoun is the person who does the action. It goes before
the verb. e.g: She works in a school.
2. An Object pronoun goes after the verb (the person who recieves the
action).e.g: He gives her red roses.
3. Use an Object pronoun after a preposition : to,with,for, etc.
e.g: My father talked to him. (my teacher) / I´m in love with her. /

• Who do you give gifts?
I give gifts to people: family, mother,father,sister,friends,boyfriend,
girlfriend, at work,at university, etc.
• When do you give gifts?
On their birthdays,on special anniversaries,festivals,in business
situations,etc.
• What verbs do you use with “a gift”?
Use: give, get(recieve), wrap, open, unwrap.
Grammar: like,love,hate+ing or + nouns
• In Positive sentences we use: like,love hate+ing to talk about our
feelings or preferences or +nouns.
e.g.: I love dogs. (plural noun)
My father likes black cars. (plural noun)
They hate playing baseball. (verb + ing)
• In Negative sentences use: don´t or doesn´t.
e.g.: I don´t like bananas.
He doesn´t like red cars.
They don´t hate playing football.
• In Questions use: “do” or “does”
1.) A: Do you like turtles?
B: Yes,I do./ No,I don´t.

Writing Correct punctuation and capitalisation :
apostrophe: an apostrophe means a missing letter.
question mark it only goes at the end of a sentence.

the first word in a sentence: His mother is from Arequipa

FUNCTION starting and ending conversations
- Where do you start a conversation with a strange:
in a party, in a library, in a new job, in a queue( waiting for the bus), in a
department store (asking where things are).
- What do you say: Hi, I’m../Hello, My name’s../Are you../Sorry, do you
know what’s the time? etc.
Fill in the blanks with these words: drink, where , great, see, here.
e.g: 1. A: Where are you from?
B: I’m from Perú.
2. A: This is a great place to visit.
B: Yes, it’s really good. I often come here.
3. A: Let’s have a drink. I’m thirsty.
B: Ok…wait, I can see my brother over there.
Sentence stress
When we speak we stress the important words to give the right
information to somebody who wants to listen to.
e.g: 1. What do you think of the music ?
2. Are you from around here?
LEARN TO Use two- part exchanges:
In this case people respond naturally means without having to think
about what to say or saying something that people always say in this
kind of situation.

see you soon and see you later are used interchangeably
despite the apparent difference in meaning.
