Agency Mission

The mission of Columbus County Schools is to install students in the


academic and social skills essential for responsible and productive
citizenship in a global society
Core Values and Ethics

Primary values are to created equal education for all students and not
discriminate against health status, age, race, and gender.
Attend to matters of each student in support and empathy.
Act in a professional manner, to guide each student with personal
success as well as academics. Hold practice to confidentially and
appropriate engagement.
History of Columbus County
Schools
Columbus County Schools is a PK12 graded school district serving
Columbus County, North Carolina. Its 19 schools serve 6,798 students
as of the 201011 school year.

Currently the oldest Elementary School in Columbus County in Evergreen


Elementary
Followed by West Columbus High School, Chadbourn Middle, and Cerro
Gordo Elementary being the youngest school
Need & Future Direction

There are future plans to combined Chadbourn Middle School with


Evergreen Elementary.
Future plans to build a new school for children prek-eighth grade to
combined Columbus County kids possibly will do the high schools the
same way
Will definitely need more safety and security.
