What is the ident?
The ident will be roughly 20 seconds and will
include shots of London landmarks such as
London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace,
Tower Bridge, Tower of London and
Westminster Abbey. All landmarks will be
filmed with cinematic effects added to them
until the London Eye appears and the BBC 1
globe will fade in to the London Eye. I think this
BBC ident will be shown before the news as the
ident is similar to the theme and introduction
of BBC News as it consists of London
landmarks and the BBC globe.
Our idea of our ident could develop in the
future by becoming slightly more similar to the
BBC1 News introduction. Similarly to our ident,
the BBC1 News introduction consists of real life
pictures of London. However, it also consists of
animation. We could further our ident by using
this combination of real life picture as well as
animation. I would suggest remaining a similar
style in London landmarks, the cinematic
effects and the globe so its a recognisable and
iconic BBC1 theme
Previous BBC1 idents have similar themes as
they also consist of a reoccurring theme of
London and the colour red. The reoccurring
themes make it obvious to the audience what
channel they are watching and the channel is
not mistaken for another.

We are rebranding the channels ident as we

believe our presentation of the ident is slightly
more individual in comparison to others.
