FIRST STEPS TOWARDS


A HEALTHY DIET

Master Chef, led by Mr
Branko Ognjenovi
prepared a snack at the
entrepreneurship festival.
Master Chef is a prestigious
consulting firm in the
catering and gastronomy
field and was founded by
Branko Ognjenovi, a
culinary academic.
Branko Ognjenovi is a
renowned culinary name in
Croatia, who has cooked
with the gastronomy greats
during his long lasting
career. He was also a
selector of the Croatian
culinary team.
Journalists of the school magazine Bartols News
interviewed Branko Ognjenovi and found out he wanted to be
a cook since he was in kindergarten. They also discovered that
he cooked for three Croatian presidents and
other famous people. His favourite dish is krpice
sa zeljem (pasta with cabbage). After the death of
his son Renato, he founded a charity Renato
Cooks without Borders. Cooks from all
over the world prepare charity dinners that raise
funds for pediatric heart ultrasound.
Branko Ognjenovi is a pashionate educator as
well. He transfers his great knowledge on others, and
he wants to get the children to eat healthier. Together
with his team, he cooked and handed out more than a
hundred portions of Dalmatian brodet prepared
according to traditional recipe.
After the brodet it was time for a workshop where kids
were able to find out just how important a healthy
breakfast is. It is the most important meal of the day and
kids should be encouraged to prepare a healthy meal
themselves. They like sandwiches the most, and there is a
way to make them healthier.
We can use brown
bread, cheese spread
and vegetables.
Vegetables make the
sandwich juicier and
give us vitamins. Lets
try and make our
sandwiches more
colourful.
The sandwiches were
delicious. We enjoyed them
and now we are looking
forward to another
opportunity to learn
something at a new culinary
workshop.
