What is measles?
Measles is a contagious disease spread by
a virus.
Physical characteristics of measles:
- Grows in cells in the back of throat or lungs
- Infected person has a fever lasting 2-4
days.
- Cough, runny nose, red watery eyes.
- A rash lasting 5-6 days.
How is measles obtained?
Spread by inhaling or
touching contaminated
surfaces

The virus can spread


4 days before and
after the rash.
