Snap Fits Joints
 Snaps joints allow an easy method of assembly and
disassembly of plastic parts.
It is economical and rapid method of plastic
assembly.
All types of Snap joints work on same principle
consist of
*First one is Hook i.e. member which acting like
a cantilever consist of bump, Its bend and return
to its original position during snapping action.
*Second member hold the cantilever.
 After joining operation snap fit feature should
return to stress free condition.
Snap fit may be detachable or non detachable.
Shape of Undercut determine weather it is
separable or not.
Disassemble force requires to separate the
joint, which is function of Coefficient of
Friction.
C.O.F. is in range from 0.3 to 0.6 in most of
plastic.
