OF EVIL 2014
ESTABLISHING SHOTS

Wide angle shots are

used in this trailer as
establishing shots
towards the audience
to show surroundings
and location. This
introduces the
audience to the main
setting of the film,
giving them a better
insight.
NARRATIVE TEXT
The language on
screen and in the
voiceover can also
establish the narrative.
Words chosen can
suggest key themes
and summarise the plot
in a grand way to
suggest the plot is
timeless and universal.
Narrative text also
connects the audience
to the trailer as it is
aimed towards them.
SOUND
A Upbeat song is played at the beginning and end of
the trailer which creates a sense of time to when the
film is initially set in.
Irony is used by the use of music as it isn't a positive film
The positive music contrasts with the movie plot and
the build up to jump scares and events happening in
the trailer.
Non diegetic sounds are used at the climatic scenes to
build effect and scare the audience.
