FILM MAKING GUIDELINES

1. The group will be creating a short film. (10 minutes – 20 minutes)


2. The group must provide a trailer (30 seconds – 1 minute)
 SUBMISSION: March 19, 2024 (Tuesday)
3. The group must provide a poster. (soft copy)
 SUBMISSION: March 18, 2024 (Monday)
4. Choose your film’s genre.
5. Film in an appropriate setting. (e.g. Bedroom – make sure the bedroom set up corresponds to the character and as well as the scene being
filmed.)
 Messy bedroom since the character is messy and has no sense of organization.
6. DO NOT JUST FILM WHEREVER CONVENIENT.
7. THE GROUP MUST CREATE THE SET DESIGN.
 Make sure everything (props, stage design, wardrobe) is making sense on the set.
8. DO NOT WEAR WHATEVER IS CONVENIENT.
 ALIGN YOUR WARDROBE TO THE CHARACTER BEING PORTRAYED, SETTING, AND SCENE.
9. Make sure to use symbolism in some parts of the film.
10. Please use VARIED camera angles, shots, and movements. DO NOT JUST STICK TO ONE.
11. THE CHARACTER MUST ACT ACCORDINGLY.
 Your face must show fear if the scene requires you to do so.
 Use gestures and body movements.
12. Observe lighting, especially the light source direction.
13. MAKE SURE THE FILM IS AUDIBLE AND LIT ACCORDING TO THE SCENE.
14. Use varied editing techniques.
15. Use appropriate background music and sound effects.
16. Provide written language.
