What is passive voice ?

The passive voice is a grammatical


construction (specifically, a "voice"). The noun or
noun phrase that would be the object of an active
sentence (such as Our troops defeated the enemy)
appears as the subject of a sentence or clause in the
passive voice.
Generic structure of passive voice
Passive : O + to be + V3 + by + S
1. Simple Present Tense
Passive : To be(is, am, are) + V3
2. Past tense
Passive : To be(was, were) + V
3. Past Continous Tense
Passive : To be(is, am, are) + Being V3
To be(was, were) + Being V3
4. Present Perfect Continous Tense
Passive : been + being V3
5. Future Tense
Passive : Be + being V3
Example
Raditya Dika give novel Marmut Merah Jambu to Sherina
1. Make its indirect object into the subject of the passive
sentences = Sherina is given novel Marmut merah jambu
2. Make its direct object into the subject of the passive
sentence = Novel Marmut merah jambu is given to sherina
