    The external ear receives its blood supply and innervation from several cranial nerves and branches. The upper part of the cranial surface and medial surface are innervated by the minor occipital nerve (C2) and the great auricular nerve (C3). The tragus, anterior wall of the external auditory canal, and parts of the cranial surface are innervated by the auriculotemporal nerve (CN V3). The vagus nerve (CN X) and facial nerve (CN VII) also provide some innervation.
